This notice explains what happens to your email address when you sign up on ifaiwereadog.com to hear when If AI Were a Dog is published.
Who we are
This site is run by Femi Onafowokan, author of If AI Were a Dog. In this notice, "we" and "us" mean Femi Onafowokan. You can get in touch about anything in this notice at hello@ifaiwereadog.com.
What we collect
When you sign up, we keep:
- your email address;
- the date you gave consent and the exact wording you agreed to;
- the date you registered and which page you signed up on;
- whether you have unsubscribed.
That is all. We do not collect your name or phone number, and this site does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Why we use it
We use your email address to confirm your sign-up and to email you when If AI Were a Dog is published. Nothing else. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the sign-up form.
Who processes it for us
- Railway hosts the website.
- Railway Postgres is the database where sign-ups are stored.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- Cloudflare Turnstile protects the sign-up form from bots. It processes technical data from your browser to tell people and bots apart.
How long we keep it
We keep your details until you unsubscribe. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list only, so that we never email you again. If you would rather we deleted it entirely, email us and we will.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or by emailing hello@ifaiwereadog.com.
No selling or sharing
We do not sell your email address, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
